ALBUM PROJECT GENESIS
LABEL NOVUS RECORDS
OUR RATING 80/100
Irish Symphonic Power metal band Ravenlight was formed in January 2018 by Rebecca Feeney and John Connor.
On the same year was out their debut single in March which preceded their first 4 track EP ‘End of the World’, out in September.
The success of the EP opened up many new chances for the band, such as a number of shows across Ireland including a show supporting Evergrey.
“Project Genesis' is the debut full-lenght, out on June 26th on NOVUS RECORDS.
The first shot is THE CIRCLE, almost five mins where high level vocals, a bit of prog in the first slice, a soft Celtic twist, are right ingredients for a tasty recipe.
Airy and fancy..nothin to add.
In THE END OF THE WORLD they run, with sharp riffs and pressing drums; a power metal song with stunning vocals and an inspired fast solo.
Closer to symphonic vibes with more complex textures following SANCTUARY, while ECHOES provides a carpet sound where vocals paints with its mastery.
Classic vibes in WORDS UNSPOKEN before more melodic and thoughtful THE STARS GROW.
They go on with symphonic THE SPELL and with more complex STRONG ENOUGH TO FALL while CALL OF THE WILD ends in the best way this great platter.
TO SUGGEST..A BAND TO TAKE AN EYE ON!
