LABEL Cruz Del Sur Music

OUT April April 22nd, 2022

OUR RATING 90/100

We start from the end: THIS WILL BE ONE OF OUR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR..ALREADY MADE UP OUR MIND.

Multi-national metallers Mirror return with “The Day Bastard Leaders Die”, a stunning blend of songs that catch the spirit of NWOBHM and 70s proto-rock.

The album will be released on CD, vinyl, and digitally on April 22nd via Cruz Del Sur Music.

The 2015 creation of Greek multi-instrumentalist, former Electric Wizard and current Satan’s Wrath bassist Tas (full name: Tasos Danazoglou), Mirror was formed to faithfully pay homage to classic HM sounds.

Their eponymous 2015 debut featured the likes of in-demand producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (Cathedral, Ghost, Paradise Lost) on drums and underground mainstay Matt Olivo (Repulsion) on guitar alongside vocalist Jimmy Mavrommatis and Stamos Koliousis on guitar.

That lineup soon gave way to new guitarist Nikolas “Sprits” Moutafis and drummer Daniel Georgiou, who, alongside Tas and Mavrommatis, released the resplendent and firebrand Pyramid of Terror in 2019. With a new record contract in hand with Cruz Del Sur Music, Mirror has emerged even more energized and out for blood with their third studio album, The Day Bastard Leaders Die.

They start with INFERNAL DECEIVER, led by driving bass lines Maiden’s influenced and helped by dynamic drums; twin guitar passages and great solo parts to enrich a brilliant opener.

SOULS OF MEGIDDO is another ace, reminding somethin’ from first Priests, with its embracing riffs, and solo parts again brilliant.

SAVAGE TALES provides darker and doom atmospheres, but there’s no lack of epic gallop and interesting tempo changes.

ALL STREETS ARE EVIL is one of our favorite, throughout epic parts and traditional HM vibes, while FIRE AND HELL hit us for its solo parts.

They go on with epic STAND FIGHT VICTORY, followed by SLEEPY EYES OF DEATH, fast and pressing.

After brilliant DEMON CANDLES, it’s time for the title-track, an amazing tune that ends in the best way this platter.

TO SUGGEST WITHOUT HESITATION!!
