LABEL SELF RELEASE

OUR RATING 80/100
The second album by Italian HM band KALAHARI was out on June 26th and it’s name is “Theia”!
Five songs in this new work where the band provides its dark blend of down-tuned guitars, twisted melodies and groovy beats.
Theia is a shocking revelation evoking Theia, the celestial body that, according to the theory of the “giant impact”, hit our earth billions of years ago, creating the moon and causing a series of reactions, which brought our world to be as we know it today.
Theia, titan of the ancient Greek mythology, destroyed to create something more.
She is the mother of the moon divinities, of the god of the sun and of the dawn.
She is the goddess of splendor, the spear that brings destruction and then creation.
In this darkest hour, KALAHARI calls upon Theia, the spear of destruction, so it can bring to a new creation and a positive change for the future of our mankind.
The first shot is the title track which, after a cinematic intro, provides contemporary and sharp riffing, enhanced by pressing drums and growl vocals.
Next shot is FOLLOWERS OF THE LICH, classic and grandiloquent in the first slice, next more structured; after a great solo there’s space for somethin more contemporary.
A roaring bass open ZOMBIE NIGHT, followed by others instruments, with sharp riffs and a dynamic rhythm section, while in I AM THE MOUNTAIN, after a fancy arpeggio and well-groomed dark vocals, we can find a tune more mature, providing several solutions. Surely one of our favs!
More squared CABLED CORE is the last shot, strong with power groove elements, which ends in the best way this great EP?
KALAHARI..a band to keep an eye on!
