BAND HellandBack

ALBUM A THOUSAND YEARS

LABEL Pure Steel Records

OUT Sept 24th, 2021

OUR RATING 81/100

HELLANDBACK is an HM band from Cleveland, Ohio with influences from Overkill, Metal Church and Flotsam and Jetsam mixed with some progressive elements.

Their debut "A Thousand Years" is a strong effort with riff driving tunes like SOAR, ATOMIC ASCENDING and DISOBEYING THE GODS to melodic choruses in EYGPTIAN BRIDE, SCISSORS and the almighty acoustic starting title track.

Nine tracks in this album opened by ATOMIC ASCENDING, where a strong riffing, driving bass lines and squared drums, helped by scratching vocals and a great solo start, make somethin’ interesting.

EGYPTIAN BRIDE shows a fancy start with thoughtful parts, growing second after second.

Magniloquent vibes and high level vocals confirm our impressions.

DISOBEYING THE GODS shows thrash influences within a complex structure, while SOAR, after a start in waitin’, is a solid rock with dark shades.

More thoughtful moments in A THOUSAND YEARS, followed by brilliant SCISSORS while in THE LAST DAY and FEED..It’s time to push.

SEE YOU IN HELL ends in the best way this album, a tribute to NWOBHM and to reasons why we’re writing about music on Hardrockheavymetal.

To suggest!!
