OUT April 29th, 2020
BADGE, another cult NWOBHM well-known on our pages is out with a new album entitled SUPERNOVA, out a few days ago.
The band led by iconic GRAHAM WAUDBY provides ten songs and a bonus track, fishing at times in the past, and following the release of the debut album, “Stormrider”, out in 2012 on High Roller Records.
Originally formed in 1980, “Silver Woman" was the first single which came out one year later.
After many changes of line up, the band disbanded.
The first shot was the well-known BLIZZARD, with heavy riffing, roaring bass and a classic Hm touch, all enhanced by vocals of GRAHAM WAUDBY, always an added value.
Same flavour for “You Mean Nothing” with sharp riffs but with more melody, followed by darker and well-known too “See Me Gone”, enriched by a great guitar’s solo.
They go on with “Brotherhood”, smart and embracing, helped by solid rhythmic texture and “Valkyrie”, which shows more rhythm.
One of our favs is the title track, helped by fancy keys; surely the song which provides more solutions.
More classic the catchy and more direct “ Rock Chics”, with another solo to remark, while “Cry In The Night”, full of rhythm, hit us for its energy.
“Dogs Of War” is opened by a soft arpeggio growin’ second after second, alternating thoughtful moments with harder parts, while “ Black Heart Soul” ends in the best way this great platter.
It’s available also a bonus track, the good ballad “Finding My Way”, originally recorded in 1988, melodic with an intense touch.
TO SUGGEST! BADGE ARE BACK!! NWOBHM ALWAYS ALIVE AND KICKIN’!!!
