BAND Hawk Eyes ALBUM ADVICE LABEL Drakkar Entertainment OUT 6/9/2019 OUR RATING 81/100 Hawk Eyes are back with their fourth album, ‘Advice’, available via DRAKKAR ENTERTAINMENT on Sept 6th. As to the album title says, the band felt that as the world is filled with unsolicited opinions from people telling you what you should think, do and feel, they should make a contribution; so, this is Hawk Eyes’ contribution, their 'Advice' to the world. ‘Advice’ shows a wide range of styles and solutions and it's so difficult classify their style; the band’s target was to create an album where every tune has its own identity. They also feel like guitar solos are underrated these days and tried to fit in as many as possible. As with every previous album, the band has been able to expand their sound once again and surprise listeners with unique twists and turns. Since ROYAL TROUBLE you have the sensation that every second they wanna gift all listeners with many surprises. FOLLOW ME shows an embracing structure, again with a great solo, while NEVER LEAD ME provides a more contemporary environment, an hard rock song of the modern day. More starts and restarts in great NEW GREEK FIRE or in great PERFECT AGAIN. ADVICE is at times closer to psych while SMOKES is really difficult to classify. A light step back for next two HAND IN MY HEART CAGE and STATE OF OPPOSITION, but WIN ON WIN shows more rhythm and last KEEP 'EM COLD ends in the best way this great platter. Since their formation in late 2004, Hawk Eyes have played to audiences all over the world, including Japan, SXSW in Texas and pretty much the entire continent of Europe. They have shared stages with some of the biggest names in rock including a European tour with System Of A Down, opening slots for the Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Slash and many prestigious festivals including Download (UK), Sonisphere (Italy) and Hellfest (France). Their songs have appeared on TV shows (e.g. Sirens); in 2012 they were nominated for a Kerrang Award and in 2015 they won a Momentum Grant from the UK Performing Rights Society. With vast critical acclaim and a strongly loyal fanbase. SURELY INTERESTING! TO SUGGEST!
