#review BAND MAYFAIR ALBUM FREVEL LABEL PURE STEEL RECORDS OUT 14/6/2019 OUR RATING 80/100 Avant-garde rocker‘s Mayfair are ready with their new album, called FREVEL, out on June 14th via PURE STEEL RECORDS. Travelling in their limitless world of music and lyrics, "Frevel" (engl. “Sacrilege”) is the 6th full-lenght in their 30-year band career. And everything seems different this time, firstly because their singer uses his native language, German.  The rhythm section is deeply rooted in the late 1970s rock with Roland "Jolly" Maehr on drums and Martin "Medi" Mayer on bass that are giving the whole thing a deeply own mark. Bitter soft tones resonate through the room, on the one hand conjuring up almost scary scenes on the other hand bringing black humor and poignant musical journeys. Prog elements are a trademark of the past.

Mayfair shows with "Frevel" that even in today's music world it is still possible to made something new without technical tricks and much more. Under the direction of ex-member and co-founder Little Konzett, the eleven songs were recorded at the Little Big Beat Studios in Eschen (FL) - live in only three studio days.
