BAND Gasoline Outlaws ALBUM Light Up The World LABEL self release OUT 10/5/2019 OUR RATING 81/100 Gasoline Outlaws, Hard Rock band from Belfast, returns with the follow up to 2015’s debut album ‘No Rules, No Laws, No Regrets', available on May 10th. This album was produced by Frankie McClay at Einstein Studios NI, and features the songwriting on a number of tracks by Cormac Neeson, vocalist of The Answer. The new album also features guest vocals by Amy Montgomery on the track ‘Better Days Coming’ and session musician John McCullough on piano and Hammond. From riff driven to acoustic tracks, this platter shows a different range of solutions. You can see it in LIGHT UP THE WORLD, a tipycal example of classic british hard rock while LIVIN' THIS WAY reminds us better THE ANSWER in their first two album. BETTER DAYS COMING develops its bluesy soul in somethin' harder, at times more soft. WHERE WE STARTED is the first episode full of melody, great vocals and acoustic guitars, growin' second after second. More contemporary PSYCHO, with its embracing riff, reminding us somethin from band such as AUDIOSLAVE; an heavier one, surely, and one of our favs thanks also to an inspired solo. Anthemic title for THE SYSTEM IS A LIE, that shows another melodic shot. In FIGHT FOR ONE MORE DAY there's return to more rhythm while EXECUTED is another melodic tune where vocals express themselves at their better. BREATHE AGAIN return to push with his full-bodied riff before HARD TIMES ends in the best way this great platter.
IN THIS ALBUM YOU CAN SEE BOTH SIDES OF THE SITUATION: MELODIC AND HARDER. A GREAT RETURN BY GASOLINE OUTLAWS! #PRESSAGENT Stampede Press UK
