SABER TIGER - OBSCURE DIVERSITY

BAND SABER TIGER
ALBUM OBSCURE DIVERSITY
LABEL SLIPTRICK RECORDS
OUT Oct 10th, 2018
OUR RATING 80/100
Japanese prog/power metal band Saber Tiger are out for few days with a new album called Obscure Diversity (from October 10th via Sliptrick Records).
This album shows a band in good shape more than three and a half decades after their formation, complying with their trademark full of fancy melodicism and intensity .
Songs like "The Crowbar Case" and "Permanent Rage" feature the technical guitar work of Akihito Kinoshita and Yasuharu Tanaka, the Takenori Shimoyama's poweful vocals and the complex structures of drummer Yasuhiro Mizuno and bassist hibiki.
"Beat Of The War Drums" is surely heavy with a modern production, while more atmospheric tracks like "The Shade Of Holy Light" and "The Forever Throne" show a dark/introspective side of the band.
"Distant Signals", hibiki’s push the band towards progressive lands.
