BAND ENRICO SARZI ALBUM DRIVE THROUGH
OUT 2017 (Nov 17th)
LABEL STREET SYMPHONIES
OUR RATING 81/100
Enrico Sarzi’s debut album "Drive Through" is out from November 17th via Street Symphonies Records/Burning Minds Music Group.
After 13 years as frontman and songwriter of HARD ROCK band Midnite Sun (with two records out and several live dates), and the experience with Moonstone Project (and the guest appearance in Shining Line), Enrico Sarzi has finally published his first solo album.
Let's start to the end: an interesting platter, well done, well recorded with a lot influences, maybe not always totally mixed in an uniform manner but, undoubtedly, the positive things shall prevail on the negative.
Everything was written by the italian singer himself in order to show his multiple influences: from the BRITISH 79'S HARD ROCK to the Seattle sound of the 90's, well mixed with the typical 80's
melodic approach and without forgetting a bit of classic italian and international pop music, another of his biggest influences.
SHAMELESS starts in keyboards-oriented mood with clear and espressive vocals; this song develops itself in a brave mix between DEEP PURPLE of the modern day and somethin' MORE melodic.
AFRAID TO BE MYSELF begins with a good balance between vocals and piano; to remind the great solo.
NOTHING TO LIVE FOR starts with an introspective atmosphere before developing in somethin' more open.
SOS TO GOD remind us somethin' from PEARL JAM, in their thoughtful side, and its development dredges up somethin' from the VINNIE MOORE'S era of U.F.O.
STRANGE FREEDOM is one the most highly regarded songs of this work, obviously in our opinion; a various tune, with great solos of sax and guitar, which involves the listener despite continuous changes.
THE REPENTANT is a song in 70's HR mood on a good level; to report the amazing keyboards' solo.
INFERNO..from the title the expectation is for somethin' hard, instead we find an inspired song.
LET ME GO is harder and honestly we really appreciate the band when is on this side.
The title track is a various track maybe not always uniform.
We end the listening with SEX PERFUME, again in seventies mood, almost in Zeppelin's mood, before CIELO, in italian language and accompanied by piano, and, honestly, not related with the rest of the work.
BEING THE FIRST SOLO ALBUM SURELY AN INTERESTING WORK..DIFFERENT INFLUENCES HAVE INSPIRED A PLEASANT DISH.
