Killing the Dragon is the 9th studio full-lenght by Dio. It was released on May 27th, 2002 via Spitfire Records and was produced directly by Ronnie James Dio. Dio stated at the time that the "dragon" of the title was "technology".
Killing the dragon was the one and only DIO's studio album with Doug Aldrich as guitarist.
Craig Goldy, co-wrote some of the songs before leaving the band and before returning for Master of the Moon.
