💿 Hi, it's a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal PETER ELLIS, the voice of one of the smartest band in NWOTHM scene, MONUMENT!! Peter Ellis: Hello, thanks for having me! 💿 While I was making this interview, I was listening to your second full-length, HAIR OF THE DOG (the first is the great RENEGADES). In our opinion an amazing album, a work with the heart in the past but viewing to the future, a clear sign that you're a band of great potentialities. Are you satisfied about your two works? Peter Ellis: Firstly, thank you for the kind words and I can certainly say that we are very satisfied with the first two albums, I think they are a great sign of things to come and where we stand musically. 💿 Can you tell us somethin'about the birth of the band? Which bands have you inspired in the early times? Peter Ellis: Monument started when I left White Wizzard and moved back to the UK from Los Angeles a few years back. I have always wanted to write true British heavy metal and I felt that I could only truly accomplish my vision by starting my own band. In terms of influences, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy are probably the bands that have made the most impact on our sound. 💿 What do you think about the renewed interest for NWOBHM and traditional hard'n'heavy music Peter Ellis: I think that people finally understood that NWOBHM has a timeless quality about it that no other sub-genre can match so naturally people have started appreciate it again. It does not surprise me at all. With that said, we would still sound the same regardless of whether it is the current trend or not. 💿 The real "news" in music business is the return of the vinyl. What do you think about this classic format? Peter Ellis: Nothing can beat the sound quality of vinyl. In my opinion is the best way to enjoy heavy metal music, nothing can change that. I love your logo..Who made it? Peter Ellis: The logo was created by myself and our graphic illustrator Stan Decker put the final touches to it once I showed him the design 💿 Can you give us some info about your next projects (in studio and live)? Peter Ellis: We are currently working on pre-production for our next album. 💿 Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on HARDROCKHEAVYMETAL! Peter Ellis: Thank you!
