Satan's Empire - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Hi, It’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal SATAN’S EMPIRE, another great band born in NWOBHM movement! 💿 We’re in waitin’ for the new album “RISING”. The cover of the album is great. Can you tell us somethin’ about this new platter? The plan for the album is for it to be released on Vinyl first with 8 tracks that were originally composed way back in the Early Eighties plus, for the first 500 copies a Limited Edition 7” Red Vinyl single featuring two tracks from a demo ¼” recorded in 1983. Then this will be followed by a 10 track CD that will include the 8 Vinyl tracks plus two bonus tracks from the same period. 💿 Can you tell us somethin’about the history of the band in the eighties? We originally formed around the middle of 1979 as a four piece out of a Rock Covers band. Gigs were few and far between so we recorded a two track demo (Soldiers of War/Suicide Man) to help promote the band and sent these out to various record companies in the UK. This lead to the inclusion on Neat Records Leadweight compilation and a Local Dundee Festival gig supporting Budgie. As a result we moved to London but had to recruit another Bass Player plus an additional guitarist. Wayne joined, then Paul joined later. We played gigs at the Ruskin Arms, Green Gate and the Mitre Tunnel Club where Geoff Barton (Sounds) came to see us. However, with no proper management the band split around 1984, with everyone going their seperate ways. 💿 What do do you think about the renewed interest for traditional hard’n’heavy and NWOBHM? It’s great that the Music is still being appreciated all over the World and it’s just the emotional content of True Heavy Metal that people are syncing into. We think that True Heavy Metal will never die, as the next generation is just as enthusiastic, if not more, than we were at our age. 💿 The real news in music industry is the vinyl’s return; what do you think about this classic format? Always been into Vinyl. There are certain characteristics in the plastic and metal master that enhance the sound that Digital cannot record. Though I do like the ease and portability of the digital mediums. 💿 Can you give us some info about your next gigs? We have seen a lot of dates scheduled.. Yes. We have been gigging constantly since the end of February with currently 4 gigs in May, 4 in June, 3 in August, 2 in Europe in October (Negasonic & British Steel) and MearFest in December. Check out our Facebook page for details! Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on HARDROCKHEAVYMETAL! Cheers, Giovanni.
